LeBron Raymone James Sr. is an American basketball professional, who is a player with the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. He is referred to as King James and is considered to be one of the greatest basketball players of all time. James is the winner of four NBA Championships as well as Four NBA MVP Awards and four NBA Finals MVP Awards and three All-Star MVP Awards. He also holds the distinction of having two Olympic gold medals. James is the NBA All-Star who has the most playoff points, the second highest career point total, and seventh-highest career assist total. James is part of the NBA All-Stars, 18 All-NBA Teams and five NBA All-Defensive First Team selections. Ten NBA Finals, the most of any player in history. James played eight times continuously from 2011 through 2018. James has been selected for The NBA's 75th Anniversary Team. He became the first NBA player to score 10,000 points, rebounds and assist in 2022. James was born in Akron Ohio, played basketball at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. He was praised by the national press as a potential NBA star. An aspiring pro, he was chosen by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft. In 2004, he was named the NBA Rookie of the Year and quickly became one of the best league players, winning the NBA MVP award in both 2009 and 2010. James, who failed to win the championship in Cleveland in 2010, left as free agents and signed with the Miami Heat. This was revealed by the book The Decision. It is one of the most controversial moves taken by a free agent throughout history.
